Jeff Sugar
President, Lipton Sugar Inc.
Jeff brings more than three decades of public accounting experience, with a practice focused on Canada–U.S. cross border taxation. He obtained his Ontario CPA, CA designation in 1992 and was licensed as a CPA in Illinois in 2012.
After qualifying as a CPA, Jeff established a public accounting practice while also serving as Controller for a security services company, providing him with a strong foundation in both public practice and industry. He later transitioned to full time public practice, where his work increasingly concentrated on cross border tax matters.
Jeff further strengthened his technical expertise by completing the CICA In Depth Tax Course in 2011. Over time, his practice evolved to focus on advising individuals and businesses on complex Canada–U.S. tax compliance and reporting obligations. In June 2024, he divested his Canadian domestic practice and now focuses exclusively on Canada–U.S. cross border tax filings.
